During Coho practices at the outdoor pools all spectators must remain in the concessions area. At Deerspring the concessions area is located around the corner from the pool office behind the diving well. At Mitchell the concessions area is located in the upper level fenced-in section on the side of the pool.
- This rule is in place for safety reasons: If there is an accident and non-registered members are on deck, our USA Swimming insurance is voided. All Coho swimmers and coaches are registered with Illinois/USA Swimming and covered by their insurance. Also, if the coaches are distracted by spectator interference, they may not be able to pay complete attention to the pool, and the swimmers in it.
- This rule is in place to ensure the coaches can coach without interruption and distraction: This is not only for safety reasons, but also to ensure that the swimmers receive the full attention of the coaches and the full benefit of their guidance and instruction.
We do ask that parents who are registered members of Illinois/USA Swimming, such as officials, follow this rule as well for safety reasons, coaching concerns, and consistency.
During meets at Deerspring, all spectators must remain on the west side of the pool, which is the side where the pool office, locker rooms, and concession stand are located. Parents are not allowed on the east side of the pool unless they are officiating, or walking to the opposite end of the pool while working as a timer.
If parents can co-operate and follow this rule during practices and meets, then the coaches are free to watch and work with the swimmers. Every time a coach has to stop and ask a parent to leave the pool deck area it is taking time away that the coach could be and should be spending with the swimmers, including yours. |

This year Coho will march in the Highland Park 4th of July parade. Since we have so many members from Deerfield and Highland Park, we decided a few years ago to alternate between the two parades. We encourage all Coho swimmers to be in the parade every year, regardless of where you live. Swimmers will receive Achievement Points for participating. Please click HERE for more information. |

Please be sure to download the entire REGISTRATION PACKET. Summer registration was due Wednesday, May 20th. Please follow the checklist carefully, and double check that all payments are accurate and included. ALL payments, including the Coho Activity Fee check must be included with your registration form. |
