NANCY REESE - ASCA LEVEL 3
HEAD COACH - LEAD SENIOR & SENIOR ELITE COACH
Head Coach Nancy Reese has been with COHO since 1996, and became the Head Coach in the Spring of 2002. Nancy grew up in Hanover Park, Illinois and swam for the Hanover Park Park District, Elgin YMCA, Elgin High School, and Illinois State University. In High School, she was a four-year Varsity swimmer, a two-year Team Captain, and an IHSA State Qualifier. At Illinois State she was a four-year letter winner and an All-Conference selection and earned a Bachelors degree in Psychology, and Masters degree in Physical Education (Coaching/Sport Psychology). She grew up swimming mainly breaststroke and IM and also swam distance freestyle in college. During her tenure with COHO Coach Nancy has been selected as an Illinois Swimming Elite Camp Coach, Team Illinois Midstates Coach, and Team Illinois Central Zones Coach. Since 2004 Nancy has also served as a member of the Illinois Swimming Age Group Committee.
JACOB WEBER - ASCA LEVEL 3
HEAD AGE GROUP COACH - LEAD AG3 COACH
Head Age Group/Junior Coach Jacob Weber joined COHO in the Fall of 2002 after seven years as the Head Coach for the North Shore Swim Club in Milwaukee. Jacob grew up in Des Plaines and swam for the Maine Township Aquatic Club, Maine East High School, and Northern Illinois University. At NIU he earned a Bachelors degree in Education. Primarily a backstroker in his age group and high school days, he also swam distance freestyle in college. During his tenure with COHO Coach Jacob has been selected as an Illinois Swimming Elite Camp Coach. In addition to his responsibilities overseeing the Age Group program at COHO, he is also the Assistant Boys Swim Coach at Deerfield High School.
EMILY ORI - ASCA LEVEL 1
ASSOCIATE AGE GROUP COACH - LEAD AG2 COACH
Former COHO swimmer Emily Ori joined the Coho coaching staff full-time in the Fall of 2004, after coaching COHO part-time since the Spring of 2000. We are thrilled to have Emily full-time and year round to help in the office and on the pool deck. The past few years she has been instrumental in the success of the Deer Dash and Tinman Triathlon, and displayed her love for the sport of swimming and dedication to COHO through coaching. Emily is the Lead Coach for AG2, helping swimmers prepare for AG3, Seniors, and their future high school swimming careers.
JEFF SUMMY - ASCA LEVEL 1
LEAD MASTERS COACH - ASSISTANT SENIOR COACH
Jeff Summy has been with COHO since the Fall of 1999, as the Lead Masters Team and assistant Senior Coach. Jeff attended the University of Northern Iowa where he swam sprint freestyle, butterfly, and I.M. Jeff is a Math teacher and Assistant Coach with both the Girls' and Boys' swim teams at Deerfield High School. During Jeff's tenure with COHO he has coached Masters State, National, and World Champions, and the Masters team has nearly doubled in size! During the fall-winter season Jeff will focus on the Masters and high school programs. The COHO Seniors will look forward to working with Coach Summy again next summer.
MITCH MADDEN - ASCA LEVEL 1
DEVELOPMENTAL COACH - LEAD MINNOW & AG1 COACH
Mitch Madden joined the COHO staff in the Fall of 2002. After several years as a swimming official, Mitch decided he would prefer helping age groupers correct their strokes, over having to disqualify them. He has brought a great deal of enthusiasm and love of swimming with him to COHO, and the swimmers, coaches, and parents appreciate him on a daily basis. A former breaststroker, he also works as an Independent Marketing/ Advertising Director. Mitch is responsible for overseeing the Developmental program at COHO. His wonderful teaching ability makes him the ideal Lead Coach for the Minnow and AG1 groups.
GIBBY LIPPAI
ASSISTANT DEVELOPMENTAL & AGE GROUP COACH
Gibby Lippai began coaching with COHO in the Fall of 2001. A former COHO swimmer, Gibby is very familiar with the COHO program. Gibby was a distance and middle distance freestyler at Highland Park High School, and he earned his degree in philosophy at Lake Forest College. Gibby brings a great personality and enthusiasm to coaching the Developmental and Age Group swimmers.
SARAH GERSHON - ASCA LEVEL 1
ASSISTANT SENIOR COACH
Sarah Gershon joined the COHO staff in the Spring of 2005. Sarah has been a COHO Masters swimmer for many years and started coaching while going through rehab for her injured shoulder. Sarah is once again competing with the Masters Team, and will continue to coach the Senior swimmers. Sarah brings an extensive swimming career with her to COHO, and she has already made a huge impact in a short time.
MELISSA MINEAU
ASSISTANT AGE GROUP COACH & SENIOR COACH
Another former COHO swimmer, Melissa Mineau began coaching with COHO in the winter of 2004. In addition to coaching with COHO, she is also the Head Girls' Water Polo coach at Deerfield High School. She recently completed her degree in education and her desire to teach is obvious to all when she is on the pool deck. Melissa brings a lot of personal swimming experience to coaching the Age Group and Senior swimmers.
JOEY HSU
ASSISTANT SENIOR COACH
Yet another former COHO swimmer, Joey started coaching in the summer of 2006 while home for the summer from the Illinois Math and Science Academy (IMSA). Joey now attends Northwestern University and coaches as much as he can during the school year. Joey love of swimming is obvious to everyone and he demonstrates great warmth and patience when working with the younger swimmers. This season Joey will help with the Senior swimmers.

HIGH SCHOOL COACHES
Our High School coaches are a tremendous asset to our staff. They are enthusiastic, positive, and extremely helpful. Being swimmers they understand the importance of starting off one's swimming career with a great attitude, sound basic skills, and a love for the sport! They instill these ideas in our Developmental and Age Group swimmers every day.
